Aleta-Jo "AJ" Bird
Co-Founder & Managing Partner
AJ is a First Nation woman from Deninu Kųę́ First Nation who specializes in Indigenous business partnerships focused in the climate solutions sector, supply chain integrity, and delivering strategic advisory services for carbon finance.
She has nine years of experience in project development and business development with a focus on biogas, clean water, nature-based solutions, and now extending to bioenergy with carbon removals and forming multi-solution clean tech offerings.
AJ is a former Toronto Police Officer and trained hostage negotiator, did a stint at law school at the University of Saskatchewan, and holds executive certificates in negotiation from the University of Notre Dame's Mendoza College of Business.
Chipewyan "Chip" McCrimmon
Co-Founder & Partner
Chip is a First Nations entrepreneur & intrapreneur from Deninu Kųę́ First Nation. He recently exited LUX BIO, a Vancouver-based cleantech startup powered by biotech that engineers proteins to generate light. As Co-Founder & COO of LUX BIO, he helped raise $1.75M from American venture capitalists including SOSV - one of the world’s leading biotech & cleantech investors.
He has eight years of experience in tech start-ups, innovation, and climate tech projects working on all things business from strategy, to product, and marketing.
Chip is a graduate of the Master’s of Management, Innovation & Entrepreneurship program from the Smith School of Business at Queen’s University. He is also an alumnus of Creative Destruction Lab, League of Innovators, and NEXT 36 programs.
